The Laikipia Tourism Association (LTA) brings together the hospitality industry (tourism operators/ destinations) in Laikipia for increased collaboration and to influence the direction and contributions of this sector in county and landscape development and management.
LTA Objectives
- Advocate/Lobby on issues impacting sustainable tourism in Laikipia
- Develop system of voluntary standards
- Create with government, a system of sustainable tourism incentives.
- Influence the development of county development tools e.g. spatial plan, infrastructure and development plans.
- Consolidate the marketing branding and communications that support Laikipia tourism.
- Support the county government with the creation of an enabling environment for sustainable tourism based on a public-private partnership (Laikipia Tourism Board)
- Advocate for the passage of non-penal county tourism legislation and supportive regulations
- Secure a significant percentage of tourism providers as members.
- Obtain a position on the board of Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF)
- Membership in the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA)
- Represent industry at national and county government
- Partner with Eco-tourism Kenya
- Partner with Laikipia Chapter of National Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Provide leadership in identification, development and use of sustainable technologies
- Provide guidance to the implementation of the Laikipia sustainable Tourism Master Plan.
LTA Membership
Registration is one-time fee set at 5000 Ksh with an annual membership fee of 10,000 Ksh.

- Assistance with fundraising
The LTA is hosted by the Laikipia Forum and its offices are located at the Forum’s compound in Nanyuki.
